Sr. High, Jr. High & Confirmation Ministry

Salem UMC is passionate about raising up the next generation of young people who will impact the world. Our work is to encourage youth in the Council Bluffs area to passionately pursue Jesus Christ, to develop a life-changing relationship with Him, and to share their relationship to those they encounter.

Each month we will take part in a service project, a fun social activity, and an engaging worship service geared just for the youth! Students in 6th-12th grade are more than welcome to join us on Sunday evenings starting at 6:00 PM. Our youth groups are designed to address the concerns that teenagers are faced with and offer Biblical, practical & relevant solutions to those issues.

  • ripp out and share Christ's love with others!

Sunday, September 7th

We will kick the year off in service by traveling down to Manawa to help reach out to the residents there by inviting them to our Salem UMC - Manna Campus. We will meet here at Salem's main campus at 6:00 pm and will return around 8:00 pm. Please note that parent consent forms will need to be filled out and returned prior to departure and can be found at our information center. Food will be provided so if you could bring a $3 donation it would be greatly appreciated!

Starting in October we will also be offering a variety of small group bible studies offered throughout the week enabling the kids to go deeper. More info to come. . .

Confirmation Ministry Home Site

Confirmation is a wonderful time to learn more about our faith and grow in our ability to love. It is one doorway to the life of membership in the church. It is honestly just a beginning. When we are confimed in membership the journey has really just begun. Welcome to confirmation, as we journey along with literally thousands of others at this time.

Confirmation will begin in January 2008 and will finish in May. You can miss no more than TWO sessions. If you cannot be present please call the church office and let us know, so we need not worry. (712-366-1408) Thanks, Pastor Dave.

What is expected of you, the Confirmand

  • Bring your Bible & Confirmation materials each session.

  • Complete the memorization and any homework each week. Be prepared to share.

  • Complete a Kind Acts of Service each week. Be prepared to share.

  • Regular attendance of worship at Salem UMC, preferably at RIPP.

  • Participate in youth group activities at Salem UMC.

  • The Confirmation Experience on May 11 is MANDATORY.
