Ingathering
The Thanksgiving Ingathering is a way for Iowa United Methodists to help in addressing hunger problems, locally and around the world. As Salem's part of this effort, we are making kits, which are distributed by the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR). Various items are asked to be donated depending on the type of kit needed this year. Opportunities to be involved are donating kit items, or being involved in the creation of the kits with the UMW. Contact Betty Smallen at 366-5032 for more information.

This project focuses on the community in Manawa, bringing them the word of Jesus Christ. Worship services are held each Saturday at 5:00PM. Various events are held throughout the year at 10 Huron Circle. Volunteer opportunities abound in relation to youth & children. Contact Associate Pastor Janice Carlton at 366-1408.
'Maizing Grace/ Grow a Row

Please make checks payable to Salem UMC designated to Grow a Row. If your business would like to donate input costs, please contact Gary Thien at 328-3477. Thank you, donors!
Operation Christmas Child
Salem will be collecting filled & wrapped shoe boxes in October and early November. Pick up information at the church and start filling your shoeboxes for a boy or a girl. Want to be involved? Here's how!
-
Pray for the children receiving the shoeboxes-that they will hear and believe in Jesus' perfect love for them.
-
Fill a shoebox with toys, school supplies, hard candy and/or non-liquid toiletries. Bring it to the church.
-
Donate items to fill the shoeboxes. Place them in the Donation box in Fellowship Hall.
-
Make a cash donation. Shoppers from Salem will purchase items for the shoeboxes. (Please make checks out to Salem & put Operation Christmas Child in the memo line.)
Thank you for your love & support. If you have questions regarding this ministry or would like to be involved, please contact the church office at 366-1408 or amy@cbsalem.org.
